Webuye West TVC gains infrastructure drive boost after President Ruto’s Ksh5 million pledge delivered

Webuye West Technical and Vocational College (TVC) has gained infrastructure drive boost after Bungoma Governor Ken Lusaka formally hand over the President William Ruto’s Ksh5 million pledge aimed at strengthening the institution’s infrastructure.

The funds, delivered to the school management during a brief ceremony at the college, are expected to significantly enhance learning facilities and create a more conducive environment for skills training.

Leaders present said the investment underscores the national government’s growing focus on technical education as a key pillar for youth empowerment and job creation.

Speaking at the event, Webuye West MP Wanyama lauded the President for his continued support to Webuye West TVC, noting that the Ksh5 million allocation will go a long way in improving critical infrastructure at the institution. He emphasized that strengthening TVET institutions is essential in equipping young people with practical skills that meet the demands of the modern job market.

Governor Lusaka echoed the remarks, describing the funding as timely and impactful. He said Bungoma County remains committed to partnering with the national government to uplift technical institutions and expand access to quality vocational training across the county.

“This support will directly translate into better facilities for our trainees and improved capacity for the institution to deliver hands-on, market-driven skills,” Lusaka said, adding that technical education is central to the county’s development agenda.

Leaders also highlighted that this latest financial boost marks the second major intervention by the President at Webuye West TVC within a year. Late last year, the institution benefited from the donation of a bus, a move that eased mobility challenges for students and staff and enhanced participation in academic and co-curricular activities.

The school management welcomed the funding, saying it will accelerate ongoing and planned infrastructure projects, ultimately improving the quality of training offered at the college.

The event reinforced the growing collaboration between national and county leaders in promoting technical and vocational education as a practical pathway for empowering youth and driving local economic growth in Bungoma County and beyond.
