The Ultimate Leader Muumandu Hills Academy Director Mary Mutuku has said that they are ready for Junior Secondary School (JSS) learners.
Speaking during a Graduation-cum-Prayer day for Pre-Primary Two, Grades 3, 6 and Standard 8, Mutuku said that she was hopeful that JSS will remain in Primary schools as opposed to being taken to Secondary schools.
“We already have a different uniform for our learners in Junior Secondary School. Parents should not worry since we will continue taking good care of the learners,” said Mutuku.
She thanked the parents for being supportive in all school projects. She singled out Grade 6 parents who never relented in supporting Competency Based Curriculum (CBC) projects for the betterment of their children.
Co-Director Benson Nganga added that the school is one of the most prestigious academies in the country having had their first Standard Eight class last year which performed excellently.
They also held a Prize Giving ceremony to motivate the learners.
“Just an example, for every Grade A you attain you will get Ksh 5,000 and every candidate with marks above 400 will be awarded Ksh 20,000. We always appreciate our pupils and teachers,” said Nganga.
Nganga expressed joy that his pupils went upto national level in music festivals.
A parent thanked the school administration for putting up a landmark of excellence in the area adding that they have much hope in this year’s performance.
The school Principal Mr. Jonathan said they have 23 Kenya Primary School Education Assessment (KPSEA) candidates and 18 Kenya Certificate Kenya Certificate of Primary Educatin (KCPE) candidates this year.
He added that their pioneer Standard Eight class attained a mean score of 401 marks.
“We have much hope that we will attain our target mean score of 415. Our last year’s candidates passed so well with many joining national schools. We hope these ones will do even better,” said Jonathan.
