Ndere Technical and Vocational Centre (TVC) in Gem Yala Sub-county has done away with school uniforms as a strategy for increasing enrolment at the institution.

According to the Manager of the TVC Raphael Nyadenge, they resolved as a board to remove uniforms with a view to attract more students into the institution.

He says that they realised that so many of their potential students were shying away from enrolling into the institution just because they feared putting on uniforms.

Sentiments which have been echoed by the chairperson of the Board of Management at Ndere TVC Mary Otieno says that they realised that some of their potential students were a little older and could not join the institution because they were unwilling to put on uniforms.
