Vihiga Boys Senior School has officially launched an ambitious 2026 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) mean grade target of 8.4, marking a renewed drive toward academic excellence and institutional growth.

The target was unveiled during the school’s Form Four Academic Day, an event attended by parents, students, teachers, and members of the Board of Management to review academic progress, outline examination preparedness strategies, and rally all stakeholders behind a shared performance goal.

The academic launch follows a sustained 2025 KCSE performance, where the school attained a mean score of 6.8634 (C+), transiting 77.97 per cent of the total 454 candidates to university and other tertiary institutions.

Addressing the gathering, Senior Principal Albert Masiolo expressed confidence in the 2026 candidates, citing improved academic systems, learner discipline, and teamwork among staff and stakeholders.

School administrator noted that the results demonstrated consistency and provided a firm foundation for setting higher targets.

Parents present during the academic day welcomed the clarity of vision and transparency in target- setting, describing the approach as motivating and reassuring.
