Maasai Mara University in Narok County is set to come alive with color, rhythm, and diversity as it marks its Annual Cultural Week from October 29 to 31, 2025.
The three-day celebration, themed “Unity in Diversity: Culture for Peace, Innovation, and National Cohesion,” aims to promote peace, innovation, and national unity through cultural exchange and creative expression.
A key highlight of the university’s academic calendar, the event aligns with Kenya’s National Goals of Education, which emphasize the promotion and preservation of the nation’s diverse cultures. It offers students a vibrant platform to celebrate their heritage, showcase creativity, and learn from one another in an atmosphere of mutual respect and pride.

This year’s Cultural Week will feature a variety of activities including cultural festivals, beauty pageantry, traditional and modern dances, solo performances, exhibitions, fashion showcases, cultural sports, and interdenominational prayers, all reflecting Kenya’s multicultural identity.
Organizers said the event underscores the university’s commitment to holistic education that nurtures both academic excellence and social responsibility.
“At Maasai Mara University, we believe that culture is a unifying force that transcends ethnicity and language. It is through understanding and celebrating our diversity that we build lasting peace,” said one of the organizers.
Students, who hail from diverse communities across the country are expected to participate, from the Coast, the Highlands, the Great Rift Valley, to Western Kenya. Their performances and exhibitions will highlight the creativity, innovation, and cultural pride of Kenya’s youth.
As the celebrations unfold, the Cultural Week serves as a powerful reminder that Kenya’s diversity is its greatest strength, a foundation for peace, innovation, and national cohesion.
