More than 186 teams, including a significant number of university, secondary school, and primary school teams, are gearing up for the second edition of the Kipchumba Karori Eldoret International Volleyball Tournament, scheduled for December in Uasin Gishu County.
The competition, which has quickly grown into one of the region’s most anticipated volleyball events, promises an action-packed showcase of talent, diversity, and sporting excellence.
This year’s edition stands out for its strong representation from learning institutions across the country.
Top universities, competitive secondary schools, and fast-rising primary school teams have all confirmed participation.
Their inclusion reflects the tournament’s commitment to nurturing young athletes and providing a pathway for students to compete at higher, more demanding levels of the game.
Organizers say the involvement of these institutions is a major boost, as it exposes young players to elite competition while allowing scouts and coaches to spot emerging talent early.
The tournament will run under four categories: Elite Teams, Self-Supporting Teams, University and Secondary Schools, and Primary Schools.
