Maseno University alumnus Felix Jarongo Odeny has vowed to restructure the education system in the country if he will be elected president next year.

Jarongo said the current education system doesn’t address the immediate needs of a developing country like Kenya.

‘In this system, the learner covers many subjects that are not beneficial to them,” he briefed.

The linguistics scholar who talked to Education News said expressed disdain at how corruption was thriving in the country.

”My desire is to eliminate corruption for the smooth growth of our country’s economy,” he said.

Asked to reveal the strategies he will use to fight the vice, he asserted that he was equipped with sincerity and determination to salvage the economy of the nation.

Jarongo took a swipe at those in power who ruled with impunity.

“Kenya should be governed by law, but the leaders have chosen to defy our orders .I will reverse that situation next year because I believe the voters will elect me,” said Jarongo.

Jarongo, who was reluctant to reveal his age and family status for unknown reasons, equated himself to the Biblical David who trounced the gigantic Goliath.

The Homa Bay county born scholar appealed to Kenyans to shun ethnic affiliations and instead elect a visionary president during the general elections in 2022.
