Matungulu Member of Parliament, (MP) Stephen Mule has urged the government to use savings to fund free education instead of getting rid of it.
Speaking at Kinyui Girls High school on Saturday during the official opening of a new administration block built with the aid of Matungulu NG-CDF, Mule called on the government to consider prioritizing on education first before funding other projects.
He also urged the Kenya Kwanza government to try to preserve the free education legacy left with former administrations so that education can be equal to all children.

“It is too painful when John Mbadi tells parents that they need to dig deep into their pockets and add money for school fees. Kibaki left for us free Primary education, free secondary education which must continue without fear or favour,” said Dr Mule.
The government has proposed to reduce Capitation to schools from the current Ksh22, 000 per child to Ksh16, 000, according to Finance Cabinet Secretary John Mbadi.
