Unionist urges teachers to report any delays on MINET cover

The Executive Secretary of Kenya Union of Post Primary Education Teachers (KUPPET) Makueni branch Justus Kimeu has called upon teachers to report any delays on their insurance cover MINET.

Speaking to Education Newspaper in his office, Kimeu pointed out that teachers have been facing challenges in authorization for admission and procedures in the hospitals under the teachers’ insurance cover.

“Kindly report any delay in authorization so that we can take the matter up with the relevant authorities,” he added.

The trade unionist also while touching on the forthcoming national exams, he thanked teachers for preparing candidates despite Covid-19 challenges. He encouraged them to continue polishing them up.

“It was not easy to work under Covid-19 environment but they managed. Let us all thank our administrators, teachers and all education stakeholders for their efforts,” Kimeu remarked.

To teachers with political ambition, he wished them the very best in the different positions they are aspiring for and called upon teachers not to be left behind in politics since leaders chosen matters to the society and the profession.

“Let teachers not be spectators in the field since their vote counts. Enlighten the voters as well. Teachers are very trusted people in the society,” Kimeu said.

The unionists called upon examiners to desist from any exam irregularities, wishing the candidates all the best.
