Uncertainty continues to surround the 2025 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) results at St. Mary’s Kibabii Boys High School as the institution’s Board of Management and alumni leadership move to address concerns raised by stakeholders.
In a public statement, the school acknowledged dissatisfaction with the situation but urged parents, alumni and members of the community to remain calm as the board prepares to clarify the matter.
“We are very disappointed; however, we are waiting for the board to urgently set the record straight,” the statement read, adding that stakeholders would be updated once the situation is resolved.
The developments follow a statement issued by the Kibabiians Development Association (KIDA), the officially registered alumni body of the national school, which cited delays in the release of the KCSE 2025 results and inconsistencies that have raised questions among stakeholders.
According to KIDA, a meeting held on January 12, 2025, between seven alumni officials and three representatives of the Board of Management revealed that the school’s results were released late, with a mean score of 6.8354, alongside reported cancellations in some candidates’ results whose details were not immediately clear.

The alumni association further noted that by the time of the meeting, the Board of Management had not convened to formally interrogate the performance or provide an official position on the outcome. KIDA also pointed to unresolved internal issues within the school that may have contributed to the results, saying these concerns had not been adequately escalated to the board.
“As the official alumni association, we take keen interest in the reputation of the school and the welfare of students and staff,” KIDA said, adding that it was concerned by both the performance and the manner in which the situation had been handled.
The association resolved to formally submit its grievances to the Board of Management in writing and appealed to all stakeholders to exercise restraint as efforts continue to establish the facts.
St. Mary’s Kibabii Boys, a national institution in Bungoma County, has historically posted strong academic performance, making the current developments a subject of keen interest within education circles.
Both the school administration and the alumni association said further communication would be issued after the Board of Management concludes its review.
