Uasin Gishu Director of Education Khaliff Isaac Hassan has refuted claims that Muget Primary School lacks Junior Secondary School (JSS) teachers.
He noted that the school has 7 employed by the Teachers Service Commission (TSC), 1 under BoM terms and 2 JSS teachers who were recently re-trained by TSC through Centre for Mathematics, Science and Technology Education in Africa (CEMASTEA).
His sentiments come amid backlash from angry parents who stormed the school and locked all classrooms over lack of JSS teachers.
The parents accused the Ministry of Education of neglect by posting only 2 JSS teachers to teach 45 pupils.
Hassan said together with a team from the National Government Administration Officers (NGAO) and TSC offices, he visited the school and can confirm that all classes are now operational.
He further said the school is now under the leadership of the deputy head teacher who has been instructed to ensure students attend Science practicals in the neighboring secondary school due to the ongoing renovation of infrastructure.
Hassan urged the media to report objectively to avoid peddling wrong information.
