Two sets of twins in Kirinyaga score same grade in 2023 KCSE exams

The two twins from Kirimunge Mixed Secondary being celebrated after posting the stellar results.

Two sets of twins have made the news after they both scored similar grades in the 2023 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examinations.

The first set are boys, Davis Njoka and Dennis Muthii, who both scored A minus while the second set are girls, Alice Wangui and Ann Wanjiku, who both scored B plus.

Both twins sat the national examinations at Kirimunge Mixed Day Secondary School in Kirinyaga Central constituency.

After completing their primary school education, the boys were placed at Kianyaga and Kerugoya Boys High School but their mother, Millicent Wangui, was unable to pay for their school fees and instead enrolled them in the aforementioned school.

The family’s financial situation forced them to trek to school every day but that did not dampen their dream to excel in their studies.

“We used to trek for kilometers to school but that did not kill our dedication and commitment to excel,” they stated.

Despite being identical twins, each has decided to take their own career path with Davis seeking to be a Lawyer while Dennis wants to pursue Nursing.

Area MP Gachoki Gitari has promised to ensure the two twins proceed with their university education to enable their dreams.

“I will make sure that both twins go to university. I will hold their hands,” he said.
