Two more dormitories burn in Embu and Gusii Schools

Three students of Nyagweta Seventh Adventist Mixed High School are in police custody after fire gutted their dormitory while students were attending morning preps on Tuesday.

According the area Deputy County Commissioner Jackson Olechuta, the fire broke out in the boys’ dormitory and spread speedily. He said no injuries were reported but promised of a comprehensive report after investigation.

The Kisii Country Director Education Pius Ngoma declined the parents request to go home with their children with the school Principal Ms. Mary Okemwa declining to comment on the issue.

The same Tuesday fire broke in the dormitory at St Joseph Gategi Girls Secondary at 5.30am in Embu County. The Mbeere South –county police Chief Gregory Mutiso said despite firefighters rushing to the scene it was, unfortunately since no property was salvaged.

He said investigations were on and warned the learners of being arrested should they be implicated.
