Two Machakos University students are being detained at Machakos Police Station over the alleged murder of a fellow female student.
The lifeless body of the lady, who was not identified immediately, was found in one of the suspects’ house with blood oozing from her nose and ears.
Speaking while addressing the press on Tuesday, Machakos Police Commander Emmanuel Okanda confirmed the incident, stating that the girl was pursuing a Bachelors Degree in Education.
He noted that investigations are still ongoing to ascertain the motives around the untimely death.
“We received a report that there was a body belonging to a student lying in a house at Diaspora Rentals. Preliminary results imply that the girl was murdered,” he said.
The body of the girl was moved to Machakos Level 5 Hospital Mortuary awaiting post-mortem to determine the cause of death.
“Two suspects are in custody and investigations are ongoing, the body is at Machakos Level 5 Hospital awaiting an autopsy to determine the age of the victim and reveal whether she sustained other injuries,” said the Police Boss.
