The Technical and Vocational Education and Training Authority (TVETA) has extended the deadline for submission of the 2025 Annual Returns by accredited and registered TVET institutions to January 20, 2026, in a move aimed at allowing more time for compliance.
The Annual Returns, which capture institutional data as of October 31, 2025, are a statutory requirement under Section 41(1) of the TVET Act, CAP 210A. TVETA said the information is critical for updating its national database and supporting official government reporting, including the Annual Economic Survey.
According to the Authority, while several institutions have already complied with the requirement, several are yet to submit the mandatory data. The extension is intended to give these institutions adequate time to complete and submit the returns without facing regulatory challenges.
TVETA noted that the data collected through the Annual Returns plays a key role in national planning, policy formulation and assessment of the performance and growth of the TVET sector. Accurate and timely submission also supports evidence-based decision-making within the education and training landscape.

Institutions have been reminded that submissions must be made using the standardized reporting format that was previously shared through official communication channels. The Authority emphasized that alternative formats or incomplete submissions may delay validation and acceptance of the data.
TVETA urged all institutions that have not yet submitted their 2025 Annual Returns to take advantage of the extended deadline and ensure full compliance within the stipulated period. Failure to submit the required data may affect institutional records and future engagements with the Authority.
The Authority reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening regulation, coordination, and quality assurance in the TVET sector, noting that cooperation from institutions remains essential in achieving these objectives.
