PS in the State Department of TVET Esther Muoria today hosted a virtual workshop aimed at validating the national policy framework for the accreditation of qualifications.
The event brought together stakeholders from various sectors to discuss the importance of a standardized approach to qualification accreditation in Kenya.
In her remarks, Muoria commended the Kenya National Qualifications Authority (KNQA) for its leadership in developing the policy, highlighting that the initiatives have been instrumental in aligning educational standards with the needs of the labour market.
“This policy not only reflects our commitment to quality education but also reinforces the government’s dedication to creating a skilled workforce,” Muoria stated.
The PS emphasized that the collaboration between KNQA and the Ministry of Education has significantly influenced the government’s support for the accreditation framework, noting that the process of gaining approval has been streamlined thanks to ongoing discussions and feedback from various stakeholders.

The workshop also served as a platform for participants to provide input and raise concerns regarding the policy framework. Muoria encouraged open dialogue, stressing the importance of stakeholder engagement in refining the document before its finalization.
As the session concluded, Muoria reiterated the government’s commitment to improving the quality of education in Kenya.
