TVET CDACC briefs Baringo and Nakuru stakeholders on integrity in upcoming assessments

The TVET Curriculum Development, Assessment, and Certification Council (CDACC) on Friday, November 7, 2025, briefed assessment stakeholders from public and private Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) institutions in Baringo and Nakuru counties on the assessment process, outlining the expectations and specific roles of each stakeholder.

The one-day workshop, held at the Rift Valley National Polytechnic (RVNP), brought together officials from TVET CDACC, the TVET Regional Director’s Office, Assessment Centre Managers, Assessment Centre Officers, and Supervisors representing Baringo and Nakuru counties.

Speaking during the event, TVET CDACC Assessment Officer Dr Stella Okemwa said that the council is committed to ensuring the assessment is conducted smoothly and professionally in all TVET Institutions.

“We urged all stakeholders to ensure the TVET CDACC Assessment is done smoothly and with a high standard of integrity, “ said Dr Okemwa.

Dr Okemwa urged all Assessment Centre Managers to ensure the trainers uphold a high standard of integrity during the Assessment process.

She highlights that all candidates registered by TVET CDACC should sit for the assessment in all TVET 9nstitutions.

The TVET CDACC Assessment Officer emphasized that candidates are required to be in the assessment rooms 30 minutes before the start of the assessment, while invigilators should arrive 15 minutes in advance.

On his part, TVET CDACC Curriculum Development Officer Thomas Mbugua said that the council is committed to cooperating with all stakeholders in all TVET institutions to ensure the Assessments are conducted with high standards of integrity.

Mbugua encourages the Assessment Centre Manager, Assessment Centre Officer, and Supervisors to ensure all rules governing the assessment are followed in both written and practical assessments.

During the event, stakeholders at Baringo and Nakuru TVET institutions raised concerns, which they requested the TVET CDACC address to address to ensure the assessment maintains its standard.

They raise issues such as candidates missing their marks after sitting for TVET CDACC Assessments, which significantly affects them.

Stakeholders also said that TVET CDACC has not paid some Assessment Centre Managers, Supervisors, and Assessment Centre Officers.

The Stakeholders also requested that TVET CDACC establish a frequently communicating unit that TVET institutions can regularly channel their Complaints and concerns to, and receive feedback in a timely manner.

“We request TVET CDACC to improve on their communication Unit and come up with a communication desk which is operational, TVET institutions can present their Complaints and concerns and get feedback on time,” said Stakeholders from Baringo and Nakuru counties.
