By John Majau

The Teachers Service commission (TSC) has come under scathing attack over the interdiction of 41 teachers in Meru County.
Meru County branch KUPPET Executive Secretary Karuti Nchebere said TSC interdicted the teachers without consulting the teachers’ unions.
He also faulted the principles and head teachers of the affected teachers for deliberately refusing to alert the two teachers unions namely the KUPPET and the KNUT before embarking on the disciplinary process.
Nchebere said both the principles and head teachers should ensure that they consult with the two unions before starting the interdiction process in order to enable them find an agreeable solution to the conflict after establishing the root cause of problem.
“Since May last year 41 teachers including 26 in secondary schools and 15 from the primary level have been interdicted in Meru County.
Speaking in his office in Meru town Nchebere said most teachers were interdicted due to absenteeism.
