By John Majau

The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has threatened to withdraw all it teachers from one of the schools in Maara Constituency of Tharaka-Nithi County in a bid to protect them from being harassed or intimidated by violent parents.
The withdrawal threat comes barely a fortnight after a parent allegedly beat up the head teacher from Kauni Primary School following a dispute over the management of the institution.
Speaking to the head teachers from the Upper Eastern region at Kawa Academy, the TSC Chairperson Lydia Nzomo said the move was arrived at after they received complaints from the affected teacher, noting that they will always give priority to the teachers’ welfare and especially their security.
“Following the row we have no alternative apart from withdrawing the teachers so that they are not exposed to violence”, Nzomo.
Recently, a parent allegedly beat up the school head teacher from Kauni Primary School, Maara Sub County in a row over management.
