Candidates who applied for senior positions at the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) have begun receiving invitation letters for interviews, signalling that the commission is moving ahead with parts of its recruitment process even as the high-profile TSC CEO recruitment remains tied up in court.
Education News has seen a sample invitation letter sent to shortlisted applicants, informing them that they had been selected to appear for a written test for the position of Deputy Director Teacher Management (County Directors), TSC Grade 5.
According to the invitation, the shortlisted candidates will take a written test on March 18, 2026, at the commission’s headquarters.
“Your application for appointment as Deputy Director, Teacher Management (County Directors), TSC Grade 5, refers,” the letter states.
“You are invited to appear for a written test on March 18, 2026, at the Commission headquarters building from 10.30 a.m.”
The interviews will take place at TSC House in Upper Hill, Nairobi, with candidates required to report to the 3rd floor, Tower Wing, at least 30 minutes before the scheduled time.
TSC lists Requirements for Shortlisted Candidates
The letter outlines several requirements for those invited to the interview.
Applicants must present the original National Identification Card for verification and confirm their attendance before the interview date.
The communication also instructs candidates to: “Kindly confirm your availability and attendance by replying to this letter.”

The positions being filled were advertised in October, with the commission inviting applications for several promotional positions in teacher management across counties.

The recruitment is part of the commission’s broader effort to strengthen administrative leadership within county education offices.
They outline clear instructions on reporting time, documentation requirements and confirmation procedures.
