The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has officially started inviting teachers for document verification as part of the recruitment process for 2,014 replacement teaching jobs. The application window for these positions closed on May 19, 2025, and TSC is now moving forward with the next phase of the recruitment process.
In an official announcement, TSC highlighted that the 2,014 teaching positions are distributed across various school levels, with 1,309 slots allocated for primary schools, 32 for junior schools, and 673 for secondary schools. These roles are permanent and pensionable (PNP), offering job security to successful applicants.
A P1 certificate is the minimum qualification required for those applying for posts in primary schools, while junior and secondary school applicants must have a diploma in education.
TSC has provided a full list of academic and professional documents to be submitted for the verification exercise.

All applicants are expected to present originals and clear photocopies of the following documents:
For primary school teachers, the required documents include the national identification card, certificate of registration as a teacher, evidence of completion of Upgrade Diploma in Primary Teacher Education (UDPTE), where applicable, PTE certificate, KCSE certificate or its equivalent (including certificates for attempts if one resat exams), KCPE certificate or its equivalent (including certificates for attempts if one resat exams), letter of certification of results by KNEC (where applicable), primary and secondary school leaving certificates, along with other relevant testimonials, National Council of Persons with Disabilities (NCPWD) card (where applicable), and an affidavit sworn under the Oaths and Statutory Declarations Act, Cap 15 of the Laws of Kenya to explain any discrepancies in names.
For post-primary school teachers (junior secondary and secondary), the required documents include the national identification card, certificate of registration as a teacher, diploma/degree certificate and official transcripts, KCSE certificate or its equivalent (including certificates for attempts if one resat exams), KCPE certificate or its equivalent (including certificates for attempts if one resat exams), primary and secondary school leaving certificates, along with other relevant testimonials, National Council of Persons with Disabilities (NCPWD) card (where applicable), an affidavit sworn under the Oaths and Statutory Declarations Act, Cap 15 of the Laws of Kenya to explain any discrepancies in names, and letter of certification of results by KNEC (where applicable).
Only the identity cards of serving intern teachers who have scored 50 marks in the scoresheet will be required during the verification process.
Additionally, persons with disabilities must indicate their disability status and the nature of their disability, which will be considered in their placement.
Once the verification exercise is complete, the TSC Sub-County Director will compile a Merit List of applicants whose documents have been successfully verified.
The Merit Lists will be available to the public on request, in full compliance with the Data Protection Act, 2019, and ensuring that the recruitment process remains confidential and secure.
This verification step is a crucial part of TSC’s efforts to ensure a transparent and efficient recruitment process for the 2,014 replacement teaching positions.
