TSC shakes-up school principals in Kisii

The Teachers Service Commission, (TSC) has made several schools leadership shake-up, transferring school principals to fill in the gaps of those who have either retired, promoted to new positions in Kisii County.

In the latest transfer, St.John’s Nyamagwa boys’ Chief Principal Jared Monyancha has been transferred to St.Pauls Gekano in Nyamira County. He was replaced by former Deputy Principal of Nyabigena High School Joseph Nyapeni.

The Principal of Gekongo Secondary School, Lukas Maburi was taken to St.Peters Keberesi and Richard Ondati from Mochorwa in Kenyenya Subcounty to Nyabisase in Nyamache Subcounty.

Itare Nyansata and Machongo Secondary School in Gucha Subcounty are also in line of getting new principals as their heads are set to retire soon.

Presiding over the handing over exercise at St. John’s Nyamagwa, Kisii County Director of Education Philip Chirchir, thanked both outgoing and incoming principals for remaining focus in promoting their institutions in both academic and extra curriculum activities.

He asked them to exhibit consistent unreserved approach of duties in their new stations and keep on posting good examination results by working harmoniously with their staffs and the community.

The Director took the opportunity to laud all teachers and students from the region for posting impressive results in the 2025 KCSE examinations and wished them a prosperous future.

Meanwhile Education News has learnt that St Angela Sengera Girls in Gucha Subcounty and Kenyenya of Kenyenya Subcounty have also received new principals.
