The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has confirmed two senior directors at the Secretariat headquarters who have been in acting capacity for quite a long time.

The Commission also re-advertised the position of Human Resource Management and Development after failing to get a suitable candidate for the post when it was previously advertised.

Antonina Lentoijoni is now the new Staffing Director after holding the position in acting capacity for several years. She effectively replaces Rita Wahome who quit the service over 2 years ago.

Also appointed, is the long serving staffer Evelyn Mitei who has been the acting Field Service Director. She has been confirmed and deployed as the Director in charge of Teacher Discipline Management.

She had replaced Mary Rotich at Field Services in acting capacity following her retirement, which has now been renamed to Teacher Discipline Management after the Commission adopted its new Career Progression Guideline for Secretariat Staff in November last year.

Consequently, Kennedy Marangu who has been Deputy Director at the Administration Department has been appointed as the acting Director for Human Resource Management and Development.

Maragu was one of those shortlisted by the Commission for the director position after vigorous interviews.

Education News has learnt that he was not successful in the exercise but the Commission chose to place him to head the Directorate on an interim basis.

Other positions previously advertised were ICT and Audit Directorates. At the time of going to press, it was not clear whether or not the positions had been filled.
