TSC names Lotam West Pokot County Director

TSC

The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has named Francis Lotam as the new West Pokot County Director.

Lotam who hails from Sook in West Pokot County, replaces Benard Kimachas who retired this year from public service.

Kimachas was accorded one of the most memorable farewells recently to mark his retirement.

The event was graced by the high and mighty in the County, a clear recognition of his leadership qualities in the area.

Lotam has been the Deputy Director for Tana River County before his promotion to full director.

A career educationist, Lotam has risen through the ranks from a classroom teacher, TAC tutor, staffing officer, sub-County director, and later deputy director before his elevation to the current position.

Leaders from West Pokot who spoke to Education News have lauded TSC for considering a local to take over from Kimachas.

They termed the appointment a milestone given that Lotam will be the first Pokot to occupy the office of a TSC Director.
