TSC issues show‑cause letters to 34,000 teachers over missing term 1 TPAD records

The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has issued official show-cause letters to 34,000 teachers for failing to complete their Term 1, 2025 Teacher Performance Appraisal and Development (TPAD) records, according to Commission sources.

Sources indicate that most flagged teachers work in secondary schools, sparking concerns that high school staff are lagging behind their primary school peers in meeting regulatory obligations.

“Our review shows high schools are disproportionately represented among non‑compliant cases — this is a wake‑up call for institutional accountability,” said a TSC official.

“TPAD isn’t optional — it’s essential for tracking teacher development and ensuring promotions are earned through documented performance,” added the official.

The TSC has given all affected educators 14 days to respond. Failure to do so, or if explanations are unsatisfactory, may result in disciplinary action, including suspension or dismissal.

TPAD is a mandatory framework used by the TSC to assess teacher performance, monitor ongoing professional growth, and form the basis for promotion decisions.
