The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has begun the process of renewing internship contracts for teachers whose engagement comes to an end on December 31, 2023.
In several letters written by various TSC Sub County Directors, the commission advises teachers who are willing to continue serving under current terms to submit a copy of a personal accident cover for the period of engagement to the TSC Sub-County Directors in person by tomorrow (Thursday) December 7, 2023 by 4pm.
Notably, TSC currently offers a monthly pay of Ksh. 15,000 to primary school interns and Ksh. 20, 000 to Secondary school interns.
Most of these teachers were expecting to be confirmed on permanent and pensionable terms after the expiry of the contract period.
There are 46, 000 intern teachers in total.
