TSC Commissioner Timon Oyucho has said the teaching fraternity needs to unite to create a movement that transcends regional boundaries.
In a key note address during the Teso Teachers Fun Day at St Joseph’s Kocholia Secondary School in Teso North Sub-county in the weekend, Oyucho said teachers should start thinking about themselves instead of being sycophants.
“I want the unity of teachers to become a bigger movement in Kenya,” he said. “We have not come here for politics but the direction the teaching movement will take I don’t know, but I am desirous of making it a bigger movement in the near future,” Oyucho said.
Commissioner Sharon Kisire said she will emulate Commissioner Oyucho by taking the Fun Day extravaganza to the Rift Valley, noting that the bonding refreshes teachers’ will and minds.
