Teachers Service Commission (TSC) West Pokot Sub County Director has asked school heads to furnish the Commission with accurate data to enable proper and efficient planning.

Speaking during a sensitization meeting of over 300 school heads at Nasokol Girls High school, Jane Nyakoe reminded them that it was imperative for them to update their statistics frequently.

She said that the Commission was in the process of ensuring fair distribution to avoid either overstaffing or understaffing. She disclosed that officers had started moving round schools to verify the authenticity of provided data.

Nyakoe reminded the teachers to always seek permission from Curriculum Support Officers (CSOs) in case they wished to stay away from their stations of duty stating that their absence was detrimental to performance. She however warned that if the absence becomes chronic, the CSOs will take disciplinary action.

The area Director of Education Amos Kibet asked them to manage school funds according to Ministry guidelines.

The Director confirmed that Junior Secondary School (JSS) finances will go hand in hand with the auditing of high school finances in June.

He stated that the government was set to disburse a total of Ksh7,268 per student where Ksh4,843 was for tuition, Ksh2,425 for operational costs.
