The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) plans to retrain Junior Secondary School (JSS) teachers on the Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC) and Competency-Based Assessment (CBA) this month.

The training will be held on April 21-24, 2025.

The programme will focus on teachers handling languages, science, mathematics, humanities, and technical subjects.

The training will be conducted in county-selected venues, clustering teachers by subject for Special Needs Education (SNE) and regular schools.

The process will begin with Master Trainers, comprising officials from the Teachers Service Commission (TSC), the Kenya Institute of Curriculum Development (KICD), the Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC), the Kenya Education Management Institute (KEMI), the Centre for Mathematics, Science and Technology Education in Africa (CEMASTEA), the Ministry of Education (MOE), the Kenya Institute of Special Education (KISE), and Teachers Training Colleges (TTCs).

The TSC issued an internal memo outlining the exercise, which will take place this month.
