Trans-Nzoia County Woman Representative Lilian Siyoi Walubengo has issued a strong call to men in the region to stop preying on school-going children, describing the trend as retrogressive and unacceptable in modern society.
Speaking during a public participation forum at Andersen High School in Endebess Sub-County, Walubengo castigated the growing cases of sexual violence and killings targeting young girls, particularly students.
She cited the recent tragic case of a St. Mary’s Girls Form Four student who was raped and murdered at dawn while on her way to school in ADC farm, saying such incidents highlight the urgent need for action.
The Woman Representative humorously but firmly urged married men who are drawn to school uniforms to instead buy similar attire for their wives, noting that such misplaced attraction is fueling abuse of minors. She stressed that teenage pregnancies in the county are largely linked to school children, and called on authorities to hold perpetrators accountable.

“I urge the authorities to bring those responsible for teenage pregnancies to book and ensure they provide for the children they sired, while the mothers are supported to return to school,” Walubengo said, adding that offenders must not be allowed to escape responsibility.
Walubengo further warned men unwilling to take fatherly responsibilities to “hang their boots” and stop exploiting innocent girls.
She encouraged grown men to direct their energy toward mature women instead of minors, quipping that those lacking confidence in approaching adult women should seek advice from their peers rather than prey on children.
