Vulnerable Form Four candidates in Trans Nzoia County have received a timely boost ahead of the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) exams after the county government launched the Dignity Pack Drive.

The initiative, spearheaded by County Executive Committee Member (CECM) for Education, Janerose Mutama, through the Janerose Nasimiyu Mutama Foundation, seeks to restore dignity and confidence among learners from disadvantaged backgrounds.

Mutama, who represented Governor George Natembeya at the event, told candidates that the county leadership stands firmly behind them as they prepare for their exams.

“The Dignity Packs we provide today are more than just items. They are a message to every candidate that their community and their county believe in them. You are not forgotten, you are not alone,” she said.

At least 100 candidates from day schools across Kitale municipality received the packs, which include essential personal and academic supplies.

Mutama lauded Governor Natembeya for making education a top priority, citing timely bursary disbursements that have enabled thousands of learners to remain in school. She said the governor’s commitment reflects a vision where no child is left behind.

The event brought together religious leaders, education stakeholders, political leaders across the divide, and corporate partners, all united in support of learners’ success. Mutama described this unity as proof that education is a shared responsibility that transcends politics.

Addressing the candidates directly, she urged them to face the KCSE with confidence. “You carry not only your dreams but also those of your families, schools, and the future of this county and the nation. Walk into the exam room with courage and determination,” she said.

The Dignity Pack Drive is expected to be rolled out across the county to reach more students in need.
