The County Government of Trans Nzoia has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Kitale National Polytechnic to strengthen collaboration in technical training and capacity building.
The agreement, signed on Tuesday, aims to provide students from Kitale National Polytechnic (KNP) with structured industrial attachments across various county departments. County Secretary Truphosa Amere signed the MoU on behalf of the county, while Dr. Tom Mulati, Principal of Kitale National Polytechnic, represented the institution.
Speaking during the ceremony, Amere noted that the partnership formalizes a long-standing cooperation between the two entities, ensuring that student attachments are conducted under a clear framework.
“We have been offering attachments to students from KNP, but the signing of this MoU provides proper mechanisms to guide and expand the program,” she said.

Dr. Mulati welcomed the partnership, describing it as a milestone that will not only enhance the quality of practical training but also expose more students to real-world work environments within the county.
“This MoU is a major development that will allow more of our students to benefit from the county’s departments through hands-on experience,” he said.
Under the agreement, students will gain placements in departments including Finance, Human Resource Management, Agriculture, ICT, Office Administration, Health, Youth and Gender Affairs, Leadership, and Administration, among others.
Also present at the signing were Health CECM Kerio Lorot, Chief Officer Dr. Judith Simiyu, and County Attorney Walioli Wabwoba, who lauded the partnership as a progressive step toward nurturing skilled manpower for the region’s development.
