Murang’a High School 2021 KCSE candidates have set an ambitious target of B+ as their mean score, Education News has learnt, even as marking of the exams begins.

According to the principal Willie Kuria, the boys school has crafted elaborate smart teaching delivery methods geared towards achieving their target in the tests.

“The candidates have been well prepared over the 4 years and are confident to get what they want,” he said.

The national school had set 10.93 points as their mean and are bracing for the good news when the results are announced.

The school attained a mean of 9.8 (B+) in the 2020 exams and produced the best student nationally. This was an improvement from 9.2 (B) realized in the 2019 examination.

Kuria explained a raft of deliberate measures to deliver quality teaching and learning across all classes that highly motivated the boys.

The principal detailed the Covid pandemic as a precursor to the digital teaching they have embraced, where students remain in touch with teachers even during the holidays.

Top student in the country in 2020 Robin Simuyu Wanjala is the inspiration behind the confidence and determination. He scored straight As to cumulate a mean of 87.3 points and shrug off the Covid-19 impediments.

The school then was ranked 7th nationally.
