Thugs kill school guard on night shift

Armed thugs on Thursday night broke into AIC Kyamulendu Primary School in Tala, Matungulu sub-county of Machakos where they attacked a guard manning the school gate before killing him on the spot.

A fellow guard told Education News that the watchman was on duty when the thugs entered the school premise, making away with a transformer.

“I guard in the daytime and he comes at 6 pm to relieve me. On Thursday he came and at 6:30, I bid him goodbye. I also notified him that in the morning, I will send my kids to relieve him because I was to go to church but when they arrived they found him dead,” the victim’s colleague said.

“They tried calling him in vain but they later found his boots, bow and arrows near where he layed dead. It is shocking because he was good man and friend ,” he added.

Diana Kyalo, the school senior teacher mourned the guard as a good man and called upon the police to thoroughly investigate the incident and bring the culprits to book.

Matungulu sub-county police commander Peter Omondi visited the scene and confirmed the incident.

The body was moved to Kangundo Level Four Hospital mortuary awaiting autopsy.
