This is my story: How I rose from loss and pain to triumph in KJSEA

Bright Site Academy’s KJSEA candidate, Isaac Kasembeli Kiboi, shares his courageous journey from childhood loss and emotional struggle to academic resilience

Hello, my name is Kasembeli Isaac Kiboi, a KJSEA candidate from Bright Site Academy.

I am kindly asking if you could consider sharing my story — not because it is perfect, but because it is proof that broken people can still rise.

I lost my father when I was very young, and my life changed forever. I grew up watching other children run into their fathers’ arms, while I carried a pain I could not explain. His death shattered me mentally. I felt incomplete, lost, and constantly fighting silent battles that no one could see.

School was supposed to be my safe place, but even that was taken away. The school I attended became unstable after the owner passed away, and everything around me started falling apart.

I felt like life kept taking from me — first my father, then my peace, then my education.

There were days I wanted to give up.

Days I cried alone.

Days I questioned whether my life would ever get better.

But something in me refused to stop fighting.

With nothing but hope left, I moved to Bright Site Academy for my final year. I was scared, but determined. I carried my wounds, my fears, and my dreams into that classroom. And slowly, step by step, I began rebuilding myself.

I studied through pain.

I pushed through doubt.

I turned my broken pieces into strength.

And by God’s grace, I completed KJSEA and achieved a performance I am genuinely proud of. Not because life was easy, but because I was strong enough to continue even when everything around me said I should quit.

My journey can inspire other students who feel forgotten, broken, or hopeless. I want them to see that it doesn’t matter where you come from or what you’ve lost — you can still write a beautiful story from the darkest chapters of your life.

If you could share my story, it would not only honour my journey but also give hope to many other young people facing silent battles.

Thank you for taking the time to read this.
