A prime suspect linked to the murder of a college student based
in Thika has appeared before a Thika law court.
Victor Musomi was arrested by officers from the Directorate of
Criminal Ivestigations (DCI) in Kisii town having the
deceased’s mobile phone.
He is believed to have committed the offence on 15th
November, and later went into hiding.
The investigating officer Peter Kaibiru from Juja Police Station
requested the court to detain the suspect for seven days.
The officer said they need to carry out more investigations
including DNA analysis of the suspect and also to allow
postmortem of the deceased to be carried out.
Thika Resident Magistrate V.A Ogutu ordered that the suspects
to be detained for 14 days to pave way for more investigation.
The suspect will be formerly charged with the murder on 3rd
December.
