Thieves break into Yatta school, steal cash

Police in Yatta, Machakos county have commenced investigations after thieves broke into Ngangani Primary School.

The incident happened on Tuesday (28th July) night where the thieves made away with Shs.7,640 that was in the Head teacher’s office.

The incident was confirmed by Kinyaata location Chief Beatrice Munyiva Kiema who said that the night guard on duty that night had gone missing since the incident.

The guard who was not immediately identified neither went back home nor the school thus causing tension among his family and the school.

“The watchman on duty that day has gone missing, his family says he never went home and also didn’t go back to school. No one knows where he is or whether he is involved in the incident,” she said.

The police have launched a manhunt for the suspects involved.

Members of the public have been urged to provide any information that may lead to the arrest of the suspects.

“If you know something that may help the police do not hesitate to report them,” said the Chief.
