Those who are in advantaged positions in terms of wealth have been asked to give back to their communities by supporting access to education.

While speaking at Nyasasa Adventist Orphanage and School in Kisii County, a local philanthropist, Dr. Willis Omwoyo said that education is the best tool for fighting poverty.

“If we want to change the world, we must invest in the quality education of our children,” he said.

Omwoyo who is a medical doctor stressed on the importance of good nutrition to children as they begin their formative years in school.

“A well fed body develops strong minds that can do well academically,” he advised.

During the visit to Dr. Omwoyo donated food stuff, clothes and blankets worth Sh1.2 million to the orphans and the elderly in the Adventist home.

He thanked the church for supporting education, adding that the quest for education development needs collective approach for success.

On his part, the man in in charge of the orphanage Mr. Ezekiel Onsombi thanked Dr. Omwoyo for the good gesture.

He said that the donated food will assist the orphans to push for one month before they get other well-wishers to support them.

“We depend on our church sponsors for basic needs but these are not enough unless we get support from other well-wishers,” he briefed.

He appealed to anyone who would be of assistance to visit the institution and offer them help in any way possible.
