Tharaka Nithi Commissioner assures security for KCPE, KPSEA exams

Some of the teachers in Tharaka Nithi county picks national examinations from one of the designated depots.

The County Commissioner of Tharaka Nithi County Wesley Koech has announced that security personnel have been deployed by the national Government to safeguard the integrity of the KCPE and KPSEA exams.

Koech announced that in the County, a total of 11,287 candidates will be taking the KPSEA, while 13,550 are scheduled to sit for the KCPE.

He assured that the exams would maintain their credibility, with no reported cases of malpractice in the area thus far.

The commissioner cautioned parents against being lured by individuals claiming to sell examination materials, urging them to promptly report any such incidents to security agencies for appropriate action.

“Despite overnight rainfall, the county is well-prepared to conduct exams at all designated centers, with contingency plans in place to address unforeseen issues promptly,” he noted.

County Director of Education, Bridget Wambua, advised parents to take precautions, especially for candidates who must cross rivers to access examination centers due to heavy rains.
