Teso North Sub County quality assurance officer Patrick Mwangi was found dead on Wednesday, May 28, in his Amagoro residence in Teso North Sub-county.

Residents jammed his residence at Green House opposite DCC offices to view the body, which was lying in the bed, a day after his death.

According to the boda boda man, who normally carries him, the deceased failed to answer his call after he sensed that something was not right when the deceased did not show up as his usual customer.

The boda boda man then decided to check on his customer, only to find his door locked. He alerted the police, whose immediate arrival broke down the door and found his lifeless body lying in bed.

The police found several bottles of spirits in his house, though the circumstances under which he died are currently under investigation.

The body was moved to Life Care Mortuary, Bungoma, awaiting postmortem examination.

Teso Sub Country Director of Education, Elizabeth Marangach, and KNUT Teso Executive Secretary, Geoffrey Ekasiba, were among the first education officials to visit the scene.

The incident attracted hundreds of curious onlookers as the sombre mood engulfed the estate, with the police having time to keep them at bay.
