Tengecha Boys High School in Kericho County announced that each student shall pay Ksh 5,500 as fine to pay on the damages which resulted after the last week strike.
The school also has directed all Form Four students to report back on Wednesday, October 1, 2025, at 9:00 a.m., accompanied by their parents or guardians.
In a notice issued by the principal, students from the affected dormitory are advised to replace personal belongings lost in the fire, and the school to provide each with a metal box, two blankets, a pair of bedsheets, uniform, and a mattress.
Parents have also been asked to clear all outstanding balances plus the Ksh 5,500 fine put on each student to cover damages.
The directive follows a strike in which part of a dormitory was set ablaze. The situation threatened to escalate, but swift intervention by members of the local community contained the destruction.

The school has emphasized the need for accountability and cooperation as it works to restore normal learning for candidates preparing for national examinations.
As Tengecha Boys resume learning, there is concern on the increasing number of unrest in schools mostly affecting the South Rift. Kabungut boys, Litein Boys Chebonei Girls and this morning Longisa boys are just a few of institutions which have reported strikes.
The fire waves and student unrests has paralysed the exams preparation as the education stakeholders call for quick intervention to curb much damage and impact on education sector.
