Technical University of Kenya invites applications for part-time jobs

TU-K calls on scholars and industry experts to apply for part-time teaching positions ahead of the 2025/2026 academic year.

The Technical University of Kenya (TU-K) has advertised vacancies for part-time teaching positions for the 2025/2026 academic year.

The institution is seeking qualified scholars and experienced industry professionals to support its mission of delivering quality education, research, and innovation.

According to the announcement, the appointments will be made in the ranks of Part-Time Lecturers, Senior Academic Staff, and Part-Time Assistant Lecturers.

Applicants must indicate their areas of specialisation, with relevant industry experience considered an added advantage. For the positions of Part-Time Lecturer and Senior Academic Staff, applicants must hold a PhD in a relevant field and have demonstrated experience in university teaching and/or professional distinction.

For the position of Part-Time Assistant Lecturer, candidates must have at least a Master’s degree in a relevant field, a minimum of three years of teaching experience at a recognised university or institution of higher learning, and preferably industry experience.

Vacancies are available across a wide range of departments, including Biological and Life Sciences, Computing and Information Technologies, Chemistry and Materials Science, Health and Biomedical Sciences, Mathematics and Statistics, Physics, Earth and Environmental Sciences, Architecture, Design and Planning, Chemical and Biosystems Engineering, Civil and Resource Engineering, Construction and Property Studies, Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, Surveying and Spatial Sciences, Business and Management Studies, Creative Arts and Media, Hospitality and Human Ecology, Information Science, Language and Communication Studies, and Liberal, Development, and International Studies.

Remuneration will be based on the class level taught and the assigned workload, based on TU-K’s approved rates for part-time teaching.

Applications must be submitted online via the TU-K website (https://part-time.tukenya.ac.ke/) by August 15, 2025.

Required documents include a single PDF containing a Curriculum Vitae and copies of PhD, Master’s, and Bachelor’s degree certificates.

Only successful applicants will be contacted by the respective faculty. TU-K has reaffirmed its commitment to being an equal opportunity employer.
