The mother of the Chewoyet Comprehensive School student who was recently kidnapped spoke in shock and bitterness.
“My lovely firstborn child, Alvin Kimtai, had just finished taking supper with family members and requested to go out to relieve himself, only to vanish in the darkness ”
Angeline Kapkama, the mother of the boy, said that her hard-working son in school was prepared to embark on his night studies as usual, but was kidnapped by cruel kidnappers.
“The search for my son throughout the night with the help of my neighbours and phone calls to relatives did not yield any results,” said the mother.
“With sleepless nights and heavy rains that poured in the area throughout the night, the search for my son became difficult, but I did not give up.”
“I meditated and even asked God what the temptation was all about, ” she added.
As she was still searching for her son, who was kidnapped on Sunday night, she got a phone call from one of her neighbours that a good Samaritan had rescued the boy and had brought him to Ng’ombe Moja Centre near her home.

“I ran very fast to Ng’ombe Moja Centre and found my son weak and confused as he could not speak, with tears on my cheeks flowing and with the help of my neighbours, I took my son, who was on Morning morning, to Kapenguria Referral Hospital for a check-up and medications,” she added.
She believes that the family’s strong faith in God was the saviour.
“My son is undergoing some counselling at Kapenguria Referral Hospital as he fainted after passing through the gate on Wednesday, where he was kidnapped, ” she added.
“The incident was so traumatising as my son was a friend to the other child who was found dead in the same area some three weeks ago, “Kapkama added.
She is appealing to the kidnappers to stop their evil acts, and for the security to be enhanced in the county.
And that is the pain and bitterness of the mother of a kidnapped son.
I visited the home on Saturday afternoon, who was preparing to attend Bendera Lutheran Church with his youth group for church activities.
Kimtai also promised to resume his studies at Chewoyet Comprehensive School today morning.
Charles Kamaina, who was among the first neighbours to meet the rescued boy at Ng’ombe Moja Centre, condemned the incident and asked the kidnappers to have a human heart for children and to stop their evil acts.
Kamaina also appealed to the security machinery to enhance security in the area and throughout the county to prevent the practice from continuing.
