Teachers have been urged to embrace CBC and School-Based Teacher Support System (SBTSS) in their respective schools.

“The CBC education system is the one that cares for the learners’ interests and potential,” said Elizabeth Mbayazi, the Kishaunet Zone Curriculum Support Officer (CSO).

The CSO said this while visiting schools in her zone, including Simitei and Tampalal primary schools in West Pokot County.

She further advised teachers to motivate and guide learners as early as possible so that they perform well in assessments and projects at all levels.

The assessment and project marks will contribute to the learner’s placement in Grade 10.

The CSO further advised teachers in the zone to continue implementing the SBTSS, which emphasizes teaching Mathematics, English, and Kiswahili.

Previously, champion teachers had been equipped and re-tooled to facilitate these subjects in their respective schools.

Implementing SBTSS in schools benefits all learners, as champion teachers induct teachers in each department.

The SBTSS programme is an excellent milestone in improving the quality of Mathematics, English, and Kiswahili languages in the county.
