Teachers have urged the Education Cabinet Secretary, CS Julius Ogamba to address the issue of delayed school capitation funds which has paralyzed the school functioning.

Led by Kisii County KUPPET Executive Secretary Joseph Abincha and Gucha Branch KNUT Executive Secretary, Lucy Machuki, have said teachers expect Ogamba to clarify on the delayed capitation funds to schools that has crippled them as principals have threatened to close schools earlier to avoid financial headaches in their institutions.

The teaching fraternity also would like to know why most of the teachers who were promoted early this term have not received their promotion letters despite others reporting to their new work stations.

CS Ogamba who is expected to visit Kisii County on Thursday, July 24 for the Kisii Empowerment Forum- Bobasi chapter, is expected to lead the fundraising ceremony, whereby the National Assembly Speaker, Moses Wetangula, President Ruto’s Personal aide, Farouk Kibet and CS for mining and Blue economy, Hassan Joho will grace the occasion.
