Teachers threaten strike over delocalisation

Kenya National Union of Teachers (KNUT) Nandi Central Branch has threatened industrial action if the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) does not abandon its ongoing teacher delocalization policy.
Speaking in Kapchemoiywo Girls during the ground breaking of the dining hall and opening of an ICT lab by Education Principal Secretary Dr. Belio Kipsang, the Knut Executive Secretary Mr. Benard Maiyo (below) said that the move was not for the best interest of teachers arguing that it will be separate them from their families.
He pointed out that the programme contravened the constitution reiterating that public participation was not done on the new policy before its implementation.
