Teachers, parents asked to prepare Grade 6, 9 candidates well for KNEC exams

Teachers and parents have been asked to prepare Grade 6 and 9 candidates well to enable them pass their National examinations despite of many financial challenges.

Speaking to Education News, educationist Zachary Onduso asked parents to provide their children with parental comfort and counsel them to have confidence in their teachers and treat the examinations as the usual ones they have been doing instead mystifying it leafing to their detriment.

“Let there be harmony among teachers, parents and candidates for the smooth running of the whole system.” He said.

Onduso who doubles as the chairman of Kenya Private School Owners Association and Proprietor of Olympic schools, assured parents that most privates schools in the region had prepared students adequately to face the examinations and appealed to parents to buy a few required examinations tools like Geometrical sets and clip boards.

Concerning security in schools, he raised concern over the recent emerging fire breaks that burnt dormitories that forced the affected schools to meet extra costs that burdened parents to rebuild them.

“We have witnessed three secondary schools burning recently including Riokindo High school in the region and I condemned this.” He said.

He asked the police to carry investigations and bring the suspects to book suggesting that some of these arsons could be caused from inside schools by students, watchmen, malicious teachers or the community.

He warned students against torching their schools saying according to the community, deliberate burning of human habitat is a taboo.

Meanwhile Bomachoge Borabu Constituency NG-CDF office staff visited Riokindo National School today, to evaluate the cost of the damage by the fire that consumed one dormitory.

In the message to the school from the area MP Obadiah Barongo expressed deep concern about the sudden fire that broke at the school recently.

The MP assured the school Management and parents that his office is committed to ensure that learning are not disrupted in the institution.
