Teacher gets 20 years behind bars over defilement

A 30 year old Computer teacher by the name Cedrick Wawire Egesa has been handed 20 years in jail by Principal Magistrate Hellen Okwani of Makadara Law Courts after pleading guilty to defilement charges against him.

The high school teacher was charged for defiling a 15 – year old student in school.

The unfortunate event took place inside a computer laboratory at the school in Mukuru Kwa Njenga slums in Embakasi twice on March 16 and March 19 of 2023.

Egesa, a computer teacher at the Topline High School admitted that he has been defiling the 15 year old girl since last year.

He was to be charged with an alternative count of committing an indecent act with a minor which was later dropped after he admitted the main charge.

At the same time, the embattled Egesa in defence told the magistrate that the minor made sexual advances in form of love letters last year which he tried to evade until he gave in.

Egesa was arrested by the area chief who escorted him to Imara Daima police station after he had admitted the act in an hotly engaged interview with the School Principal who had been informed about the same by the victim`s mother after she grew suspicious of the child due to lateness while going home, and due to pressure, she revealed that it was Egesa determination to ripe the forbidden fruit.
