Teacher-based cooperative societies affiliated with the Kenya Teachers Sacco Association (KETSA) have been lauded for their on-going efforts in improving the lives of their members.
The Principal Secretary for Cooperatives, Patrick Kilemi highlighted that these Saccos are among the best-managed Saccos in the country, not only benefiting teachers but also providing the general public with access to affordable credit facilities.
Kilemi urged the Saccos to ensure strict compliance with the law and other regulatory frameworks governing the sector.
Furthermore, he emphasized the importance of adhering to the regulations set by the Sacco Societies Regulatory Authority to ensure continued growth and success.
Kilemi stressed the transformative role of Saccos in the socio-economic development of the country and urged the Sacco Leaders to lead by example, inspiring other Saccos to follow suit.
Established in 2007 and registered in 2011 under Cap 108 of the laws of Kenya, this 25-member Sacco serves as a collaborative platform for sharing knowledge and addressing common operational challenges, while also advocating for the interests and concerns of its member SACCOs.
