A management taskforce will very soon be unveiled in Keiyo North that will monitor the academic progress of NGCDF bursary beneficiaries in the constituency.

Speaking in Iten after disbursing bursary cheques, area legislator Adams Kipsanai said his administration is in the final stages of constituting the taskforce that will be responsible for closely monitoring academic performance and wellbeing of all learners under the kitty.

“We are in the final stages of constituting a taskforce to monitor the academic performance of all students who are funded through the NGCDF,” said the legislator.

Kipsanai said the aim is to ensure improvement of education standards in the constituency, which has been declining in recent years.

Terming it as a way of realizing the value of money, the MP said it was imperative to go beyond sending money to schools without tracking the progress of beneficiaries.

He called on the students to utilize the funding by doing their best in their studies.

Kipsanai decried the high number of students posting low grades, saying the same has impacted negatively in their progression to higher institutions of learning.

“It is saddening to see large number of our learners get low quality grades in the national examinations. It impedes our competitiveness in the academic world. I urge our students to treat their studies with the seriousness it deserve,” he remarked.
